Seal Bay Nature Park Upgrades

Construction is underway at Seal Bay Nature Park to improve several popular trails beginning by the Bates Road parking lot.

Work will take place from September 22 to December 31, 2026. During construction, some trails and part of the parking lot will be closed or have temporary access changes.

Trails closures and access


Don Apps Trail

Don Apps Trail is closed for the full duration of construction. The trail is being upgraded to help maintain access to the beach while protecting environmental and cultural features in the area.

Part of the Bates Road parking lot is also closed for construction equipment and material storage.

Coupland Loop: temporary closures

Coupland Loop is being upgraded to improve accessibility.

There will be temporary, alternating closures on Coupland Loop during construction. Please follow posted signs and use available routes.

Seal Loop: temporary closures

The Seal Loop bridge is being replaced to improve public safety.

There will be temporary, alternating closures on Seal Loop during construction. Please follow posted signs and use available routes.

For your safety, obey all trail closures, construction signs, and instructions from contractors. Do not enter closed trail areas.
