In Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Comox Valley Regional District is reviewing the board and committee /commission meeting schedule to consider, for the most part, only critical business matters. To address physical distancing recommendations set out by the Provincial Health Officer, meetings will be closed to the public until further notice. In order to maintain transparency and accountability, interested members of the public are encouraged to view upcoming agendas and send any submissions related to agenda items, to corporate services or care of the Corporate Officer, 770 Harmston Avenue, Courtenay BC, V9N 0G8.
Following meetings, video recordings of proceedings will be posted to the CVRD website for online viewing. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Jake Martens, Manager of Legislative Services, at 250-334-6000.
The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) Board of Directors meets monthly, usually on the last Tuesday of each month. In addition to board meetings, the CVRD uses a standing and select committee system to support the decision making process.
The board also hosts periodic elected officials' forums to bring elected officials from across the Comox Valley together to receive information and discuss issues of regional significance. Past sessions have focused on issues such as climate change, air quality, infrastructure funding, emergency management, regional growth strategy, recreation services and transportation.
The Comox Valley Regional District Board encourages you to participate in open discussions about the development of your community. The Board is governed by CVRD Procedure Bylaw No. 1, which regulates the proceedings of the Board and its committees.
