Development Cost Charges (DCCs)

DDCs are funds collected from land developers to offset infrastructure costs incurred to service the future needs of new development. Sewer DCCs are applied through the Comox Valley Sewerage Service, which includes the City of Courtenay and Town of Comox. DCCs within Courtenay and Comox are collected by member municipalities on behalf of the CVRD.

The service has had a DCC bylaw in place since 2002, which was last amended in 2019. A major update to the DCC bylaw is currently underway and DCCs will be increasing
