Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds

The Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds (CVEG) consists of 40 acres of developed areas and natural park settings and is a major hub for many types of activities, including equestrian events, dog shows, curling bonspiels, community fairs and musical events.

We have many facilities, fields, stables, etc. at the Exhibition Grounds, each one unique. Each space has its own rules and guidelines to help you enjoy your time and keep yourself, other patrons and your animals safe. Look for signage when using a space and please respect the rules and guidelines.

General Rules for Use at the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds:

Respect the signage, rules and property.
Treat other users with courtesy.
Give horses the right of way.
CVEG is closed from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am.
No smoking, vaping or open flame anywhere on the property.
No alcohol or marijuana permitted on the property.

All dogs must be leashed throughout the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds including trails (exception: Rotary Bowl Field).

The Rotary Bowl Field is an off leash area but dogs still must be under control.

Off leash area at Rotary Bowl Field:
- Dogs must remain within 10 m (30 feet) of the person who has care and control of it
- Dogs must be responsive and immediately return when called
- Dogs must not be harassing or attacking any person, animal or wildlife
- Please clean up after your dog!

Please enjoy the trails and river at the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds but remember to protect the grounds, plants and wild animals. The property is part of the Tsolum River Watershed and is home to many native plants, animals, fish and other river life. Please do not remove, destroy or damage any natural feature or leave any trace behind (this includes picking up after your dog). Keeping your dog under control and on leash is required (except Rotary Bowl Field) and helps to protect wild habitat- this is especially important in the spring when baby animals abound. Remember to use fish friendly sunscreens if you are swimming in the river.

The Exhibition Grounds have lots of open, natural areas. For this reason natural hazards such as rapidly changing river depth, flooding and falling tree branches could happen with little or no warning. Please be on the lookout for hazards and report anything hazardous to the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds.

We also share this land with wildlife such as bears and cougars. Please be aware and respectful of wildlife.

Please note lifeguards do not patrol swimming areas along the Tsolum River or the Puntledge River.

Exhibition Ground Fields, Riding Rings, Facilities & Booking Information

We have a number of facilities on the exhibition grounds which are available for rent.

To rent one of the fields, riding rings, or activity rooms you will need a to submit a Booking Request Form.

Exhibition Ground Facilities, Fields & Riding Rings	Availability
North Field: Daily rate (no washrooms except for the portable toilets on site). Located right along Headquarters Road so great for small events wanting to attract those driving by. Would work well for small farmer style markets, craft/art shows, equipment or product sales, food festivals and smaller private or community events. It is also a nice space to rent to provide additional gathering places/holding areas for larger events using other fields/rings.	For booking information please email recbooking@comoxvalleyrd.ca
Kin Hut Field: Daily rate (no washrooms except for the portable toilets on site). Centrally located and adjacent to the Curling Club parking lot. Would work well for smaller farmer style markets, craft/art shows, equipment or product sales, food festivals and smaller private or community events. It is also a nice space to use as an additional area for a gathering place/holding area for larger events using other fields/rings.	For booking information please email recbooking@comoxvalleyrd.ca
Dove Creek Field: Daily rate (no washrooms except for the portable toilets on site). This area may only be booked in conjunction with the rental of other fields/riding rings. This area is available mid-June to late-August only and during periods not in use by the Comox Valley Therapeutic Riding Society. Huge open space full of possibilities – from actual event space to overflow parking or tent camping for larger community events. Close to the river/woods for nature activities. Lower Field (including Show Riding Ring & Warm-Up Riding Ring): Daily rate includes Show Riding Ring, Warm Up Riding Ring, Washrooms and Show Ring Announcers Booth. There is also no additional cost for the use of Activity Room C if it is available. This is a great space for larger horse or dog shows and due to the large number of hook up locations (water and power) it can also serve as a camping area for your events.	Check Availability
Rotary Bowl : Daily rate includes washrooms. No equestrian events permitted. Ideal location for anything from large community events, concerts, outdoor weddings, family reunions and corporate team building activities to dog shows.	Check Availability
Stonehenge Covered Riding Ring: Hourly and daily rates available. No washrooms access except for the portable toilets on site. Ring has lighting as well as natural light from the sides of the open building. Excellent ring for jumping, dressage etc.	Check Availability
Stonehenge Open Riding Ring: Daily rate (no washrooms except for the portable toilets on site). This area may only be booked in conjunction with the rental of other fields/riding rings. This area is only available when not in use by the Stonehenge Public Stables Users. Would work well for dog activities and casual horse use.	Check Availability
Upper Riding Ring: Daily rate includes North Field, Washrooms and Upper Riding Ring Announcers Booth. There is also no additional cost for the use of Activity Room B if it is available. Ideal ring for western riding and casual non-jumping usage.	Check Availability
Therapeutic Indoor Riding Ring & Barn: Hourly and daily rates available. Therapeutic Barn Washrooms and Lounge area not included (no washrooms except for the portable toilets on site).
