The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) respectfully acknowledges the land on which it operates is on the unceded traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation, the traditional keepers of this land.

We employ over 250 staff in a wide variety of positions across the region at our Corporate Office in Courtenay, the Comox Valley Sports Centre, the Comox Valley Aquatic Centre, the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds, the Comox Valley Water Treatment Plant, the Union Bay Water Treatment Plant, the Comox Valley Waste Management Centre in Cumberland, and the Comox Valley Water Pollution Control Centre in Area B. There are nine local fire service areas within the regional district, including six volunteer fire departments (Hornby Island, Denman Island, Fanny Bay, Union Bay, Oyster River and Merville). There are also several local fire service areas provided by way of service agreement with a local municipality.
