Maris Nature Park Management Planning

Maris Nature Park represents a new opportunity for the parks system in the Comox Valley. Since the first land donation was completed in 2023, Comox Regional District (CVRD) staff have begun a Park Management Planning Process. The plan will establish a long-term vision for the park and identify strategic management goals and actions to protect the parks' natural, cultural, and recreational values.

Update: January 2026

CVRD staff continue to work on the management plan, with consultation taking place with K’ómoks First Nation and local community groups. Further updates on the plan's status and are expected to take place in late 2026.

Thank You for Your Feedback!

May 2025: from April 22 until May 30, the CVRD offered a survey to residents in hopes of finding more about the future of Maris Nature Park. Thank you to all who responded and completed the survey!

Below is an engagement summary on what we heard and who staff connected with throughout the process.
