Saratoga Beach Local Area Plan

Planning for the Future of Saratoga Beach Community

The Comox Valley Regional District is creating a Local Area Plan for the Saratoga Beach area.

A Local Area Plan helps guide how an area may change over time. It looks at local issues, opportunities, and priorities and provides direction for future decision-making.

Saratoga Beach is a unique coastal community known for its beaches, natural areas, rural character, and tourism attractions. The area also faces important challenges, including limited water supply during the summer, drainage and flooding concerns, reliance on private septic systems, transportation issues, and the impacts of climate change.

The Local Area Plan will help identify what makes the Saratoga Beach area special, where change may be appropriate, and what conditions should be considered as the community evolves over the next five to ten years.
