The Comox Valley Regional District is informing residents that Stage 3 water restrictions have been lifted as of today, Friday, September 4, 2026, and that Stage 2 water restrictions will be reinstated in accordance with water-flow rate limits in the Puntledge River.
Stage 2 Water Restrictions:
A person may only use a sprinkler to water a lawn and garden growing on a property on the following schedule:
- Even numbered addresses: On Tuesday and Saturday between the hours of 6 am - 7:30 am and 8 pm - 9:30 pm. They may not use a sprinkler to water the lawn or garden on any other day or time
- Odd numbered addresses: On Wednesday and Sunday between the hours of 6 am - 7:30 am and 8 pm - 9:30 pm. They may not use a sprinkler to water the lawn or garden on any other day or time.
The water that supplies the Comox Valley Water System originates in Comox Lake and is taken from the Puntledge River and delivered to approximately 41,000 residents.
These water restrictions apply to everyone living in the Town of Comox, K’omoks First Nation, the City of Courtenay and the Arden, Comox Valley, England Road, Marsden/Camco, and Greaves Crescent water local service areas. All of these areas are served by the Comox Valley water system.

Water Local Service Area Restrictions
The CVRD manages five water systems in the Comox Valley. Each system operates differently based on a number of factors including infrastructure, water supply/storage, treatment, and water source. Current Restrictions as of September 4, 2026, are as follows:
