Project Background
The Marine Drive section of the Royston Seaside Trail with the picnic tables and the viewing platform area have been park amenities in the community for decades. The viewing platform has been closed since November 2023 due to significant structural issues and advanced decay.
Where Are We Now?
To help inform park planning for the Marine Drive area, the below questions were posed to residents at the March 11 Royston Open House to try and understand:
- What is important to you in this area?
- How do you use this space?
- What values are important to you about this site? For example: views, cultural heritage, connections/walking paths, social gathering, etc.
Next Steps
The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) will collect feedback heard to help define an appropriate site planning process in collaboration with K'ómoks First Nation. More information will be communicated as the project progresses.
