The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) is advising residents to use extreme caution while visiting electoral area parks because of potential hazards as a result of the recent storm events. Parks staff are assessing the damage and want to advise that clean-up will take time as crews and resources are limited.
“We are asking residents to please use caution if you are enjoying one of our many local parks and for your own safety to stay out of the parks during severe weather events,” explains Mark Harrison, CVRD Manager of Parks. “The recent storm and significant winds have impacted our parks and caused damage to trees and left branches and other debris on the trails making the terrain hazardous. With another storm approaching tonight, please use caution and have patience as we work hard to get our parks cleaned up.”
To report any concerns or issues in the electoral area parks, please contact the regional district at 250-334-6000 or online at Community Services.
