Stage 2 Water Restrictions will come into effect on July 1st for the Black Creek-Oyster Bay and Comox Valley Water Systems which includes residents of the City of Courtenay, Town of Comox, and portions of all three electoral areas.
Under Stage 2 water restrictions, lawn and garden sprinkling is permitted between the hours of 6:00 am – 8:00 am and 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm, on Tuesday and Saturday for even numbered addresses and Wednesday and Sunday for odd numbered addresses.
“With summer here and drought conditions increasing, we all need to do our part to conserve water use,” explains Kris La Rose, Senior Manager of Water and Wastewater Services. “As we’ve seen in recent summers, we’re seeing less rain and higher than average temperatures. Reducing our water consumption reduces our impact on the natural environment and helps keep infrastructure costs down for the community. ”
