The Comox Valley Regional Emergency Operations Centre is advising residents to please be aware the below parks within the City of Courtenay are currently closed due to the recent flooding event.
City of Courtenay Parks Closures Include:
• Lewis Park
• Simms Park Inner Loop
• Puntledge Park
• McPhee Meadows
• Air Park Loop Off the Riverway Trail
• Lower Buckstone trail around the pond
• Frog Ponds Trail behind McLauchlin Place to Cruickshank Place (under the power lines)
• Condensory Trail
Residents are encouraged to follow directions of emergency service personnel and obey all road and trail closures. Please stay away from water bodies, waterways and low-lying areas. Tune in to your local news stations and monitor weather alerts and forecasts for information and updates. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
