The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) announces a necessary intersection closure of Beaufort Avenue and Port Augusta Street for the duration of two days, Tuesday, December 3 & Wednesday December 4 (MAP 1). These works will be conducted during the hours of 7:00 am until 8:00 pm. This shutdown is subject to suitable weather conditions or other possible construction-related delays. Please refer to the project website for updates regarding this closure.
This road closure is essential for construction of the Comox Valley Sewer Conveyance Project.
Access through the intersection will be restricted to local residents and businesses within the construction zone, including the Comox Valley Harbour Authority and the Blackfin Pub. Visitors to the Blackfin Pub and 1757 Beaufort Avenue medical services building are directed to travel via Nordin Street. For Marina Park access, the public is directed to use the west parking lot via Wilcox Street.
It will not be possible to travel through the intersection during construction. All eastbound traffic on Beaufort Avenue will be directed south on Port Augusta Street to the Marina Park parking lot.
Commuters are advised to plan their routes accordingly and avoid the intersection. Please follow the posted detour signage. Anticipate additional travel time during the closure period.
The continued cooperation and patience of the public is greatly appreciated as we work to enhance the sewer system infrastructure of our community.
