Glacier View Drive and Aitken Street Closed at Comox Avenue Starting May 20

The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD), as part of the Comox Valley Sewer Conveyance Project, is required to close Glacier View Drive and Aitken Street at Comox Avenue starting on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. Two-Way traffic from Manor Drive to Rodello Street will resume on Tuesday, May 20 (MAP 1).

The closures are required to facilitate Town of Comox infrastructure upgrades in preparation for the construction of the new roundabout at the intersection of Glacier View Drive and Comox Avenue. This work, initially scheduled for later this year, has been moved forward, as progress on the Comox Valley Sewer Conveyance Project continues to exceed initial time estimates.

The public should anticipate the return of one-way, westbound traffic on Comox Avenue as work to replace a stormwater pipe on the north side of the street is underway. At this time, Aitken Street will be open as the detour route. Glacier View Drive is estimated to remain closed until September.

The detour for this work will be McDonald Road to Guthrie Road and Anderton Road. (MAP 2).
