The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) Board is developing a Regional Climate Action Strategy and wants to hear from residents on what matters to them regarding climate impacts and priorities within our community.
“We all have a role to play as our climate changes,” explains CVRD Board Chair, Will Cole-Hamilton. “With committed action it is possible to slow the pace of impacts locally. We want to hear from residents on what matters to them and how climate change has already been impacting them. The CVRD Board is committed to reducing our impact on the environment and accelerating actions locally for adaptation and response to climate effects. ”
The development of the Climate Action Strategy will identify ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and build resilience within the region. Working with climate experts and technical specialists, the Strategy will help guide a path forward to help reach greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets within the region.
Residents are invited to provide feedback online until 4 pm on Wednesday, May 15th. All responses received will be reviewed for incorporation within the Climate Action Strategy. The final strategy will be posted online and presented to the CVRD Board in the fall.
