On March 18, the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) recognizes Transit Worker and Operator Appreciation Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the people who keep the transit system running and help connect communities across the Comox Valley.
Transit operators and workers play a vital role in supporting safe, reliable, and accessible transportation for residents and visitors every day. From driving buses to maintaining vehicles and supporting operations behind the scenes, their work helps thousands of riders reach work, school, appointments, and community activities.
“Transit workers and operators are at the heart of the transit system,” says Michael Zbarsky, Manager of Transit and Facilities for the CVRD. “This day is an opportunity for the community to recognize the professionalism, dedication, and care they bring to their work every day.”
Riders are encouraged to take a moment on March 18 to thank their driver or transit staff for helping keep the community moving.
