Comox Valley Aquatic Centre Leisure Pool Temporarily Closing

The Comox Valley Aquatic Centre leisure pool will be closed until Thursday, November 27. Over the last several weeks, the leisure pool has had numerous fecal incidents requiring super chlorination. To maintain effective pool chemistry and safety for staff and patrons, the leisure pool needs to be drained, refilled and have chemical levels rebalanced.

“We are committed to providing a healthy and safe environment,” explains Jennifer Zbinden, Senior Manager of Recreation Services. “Thank you for your patience and support as we have navigated this issue.”

Ways to Help Reduce Unexpected Shutdowns:

  • Shower before entering the pool
  • Remind children of bathroom rules
  • Wear appropriate swim diapers

CVRD recreation staff will be adjusting the scheduled programming. Changes will be communicated through PerfectMind and will also be available at www.comoxvalleyrd.ca/schedulechanges.
