Community Invited to Celebrate and Explore Electoral Area Parks Across the Comox Valley

The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) is inviting residents and visitors to connect with nature, learn about local conservation efforts, and celebrate some of the electoral area’s most valued public spaces through two upcoming Play in the Parks events.

The Play in the Parks events aim to raise awareness of the important role parks play in supporting healthy communities, protecting natural ecosystems, and providing opportunities for recreation, learning and connection – a key priority for the CVRD Board of Directors.

Join us:

  • Thursday, July 9, 12:00-2:00 pm at Dyke Road Park, 2704 Comox Rd., Courtenay
  • Thursday, July 16, 12:00-2:00 pm at Goose Spit Park, 10 Hawkins Rd., Comox

“These events offer an opportunity to learn more about local parks, connect with neighbours, and celebrate the natural landscapes that contribute to the Comox Valley’s exceptional quality of life.” said Mark Harrison, Manager of Parks.

Visitors can find CVRD staff at the events with pop-up tents sharing information, along with refreshments, treats and takeaways. Stop by the updated Dyke Road Park to see the recent park upgrades and the changes to help with the site’s climate resiliency. At Goose Spit Park come learn about the sand verbena moth and site conservation efforts.
