Residents who purchase or renew early go into the draw to win a $75 gift voucher
Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) dog licences for 2027 will be available for purchase starting November 1, 2026. Licences are valid from January 1 until December 31 each year. The CVRD requires all dogs over six months of age to be licensed every year within Electoral Areas A, B, and C (Denman and Hornby Islands anticipated to begin dog licencing requirements in 2028).
Dog licences are required as part of the CVRD’s Animal Control Service and help reduce the number of unclaimed dogs in the CVRD, as well as assist authorities in locating dog owners and reuniting lost pets.
“Dog licences help make sure your beloved pet finds their way home to you faster,” says Amanda Yasinski, CVRD Senior Manager of Building and Bylaw Compliance. “By purchasing your dog's licence, you are letting people know that your dog belongs with someone and is only one phone call away from going home.”
This year, residents who renew or purchase their dog licence before December 31, 2026, will have their dog’s licence number automatically entered into a draw for a chance to win a $75 gift voucher at a local pet food store of their choice. The draw is only eligible for valid dog licences in Electoral Areas A, B, and C, and each individual dog licence number will be entered as a ticket. The winning dog licence number will be drawn on January 15, 2027, and owners will be notified via the contact details attached to the file.

• Unspayed / Unneutered $25.00
