History

The Comox Valley Regional District obtained a licence of occupation over the Sandpiper Beach road allowance/beach access in August of 2009.

Background

Sandpiper Beach Park consists of open lawn area with views of Tribune Bay. The south half of the park is second growth fir with blackberries growing around the edge. The beach access consists of gravel access road along the west side of the park with an open area of grass and wildflowers to the east. There are a dozen or so small trees.

Park Etiquette

  • Leashing is optional

Beach Fire Etiquette

  • Fires permitted on beach below high tide line unless there is a fire ban in effect
  • All fires must be extinguished with water (not covered with sand or other material) by 2 am
  • Report concerns regarding fires to the Hornby fire department patrol officer at 250-703-9022
