History
Mt. Geoffrey Bench Park was originally named Shingle Spit Park. It was renamed in 2007 when the bench commemorating early Hornby Island settlers was installed. Mt. Geoffrey is named after Admiral Geoffrey Hornby of the Royal British Navy.
Information
Mount Geoffrey Bench Park is comprised of an escarpment face above the Denman Island ferry landing, a bench and a second escarpment face to the top of Mt. Geoffrey. The park offers amazing views of Shingle Spit, as well as of Denman and Vancouver Islands. Mt. Geoffrey Bench Park has a trail that provides access from Mount Road to the Bench Trail in Mount Geoffrey Escarpment Provincial Park.

Park Etiquette

- The bench trail follows the edge a cliff with a steep, high drop off – all park users must exercise extreme caution and stay well back from the edge
