History

Fanny Bay Community Park was purchased in 2014 from School District #71. The park was created in 1997 at the time of subdivision. Historically, the site was home to a community schoolhouse, the old cement foundation of which is still visible today.

Information

Fanny Bay Community Park consists of an open area and a remnant second-growth forest typical of low elevation seepage sites. Dominant species are Douglas fir and red alder. The property bisects a parking area and turn-around that is used by the public to access upland trails and events at the Fanny Bay Community Hall. In 2021, a small playground was added to the park that is located just west of the community hall. The park is accessible off the highway.
