Information
Eagles Greenway is a 1 km long, 2.2 meter wide multi-use trail that connects the Willams Beach neighbourhood with the neighbourhoods located off Left Road in Merville. The native tread trail surfacing is conducive to walking, cycling and horseback riding. This greenway makes a good connection between two other CVRD parks: Eagles Park to the south and McLoughlin Park to the north, both of which are beach accesses. Using the Eagles Greenway, these two parks and the beach park users could make a five kilometer loop.
The vegetation along Eagles Greenway is dominated by evenly-aged stands of second-growth Douglas fir, with some big leaf maple and alder. The understory is predominantly red huckleberry and huge sword fern. The trail area and adjacent forest is home to various species of woodpecker and owls, as well as bears and the odd cougar.
Location
The south end of Eagles Greenway can be accessed at the end of Eagles Road, off Left Road in Merville. The north end can be accessed from Tasman Road off Willams Beach Road.
