We are currently seeking two permanent part-time Information Centre Assistants (one position working 21 hours per week with the other 14 hours a week) to join our Corporate Services team. The Information Centre Assistant provides reception and switchboard services to the CVRD’s Main Office, including processing payments. Reporting to the Manager of Administration, the primary responsibilities of this role include:
Greeting customers at the Information Centre, answering the main switchboard, directing inquiries and providing information;
Receiving and processing payments (including issuing dog licenses, transit passes and processing permits), entering payments into a financial system and issuing receipts;
Balancing and reconciling money received and preparing a bank deposit on a daily basis;
Performing a variety of clerical support duties including updating manuals, maintaining files, ensuring bulletin board and brochure displays are in order and up-to-date, receiving and distributing mail;
Maintaining an awareness of all meetings, events, advertising etc. concerning the regional district in order to provide accurate information to the public.

Detail oriented and efficient, with the ability to process and reconcile payments and accurately record data;
Able to cope with a noisy environment, multiple demands and interruptions;
Experienced in providing administrative support with over six months up to one year of directly related experience including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically word processing, spreadsheet and database skills) and some knowledge of financial administration systems;
Educated in office administration (including an office administration course of up to six months in duration at the post-secondary level) following high school graduation;
Knowledgeable in the practices and processes involved in local government office administration.
These positions are part of a team of other part-time staff providing administrative services and support. The hours of work for these positions is 8:30 am to 4:30 pm OR 8:45 am to 4:45 pm with days of the week to be determined.
