History:

This park was originally a recreation UREP. In 1992 the CVRD received a 20 year lease for the park for park purposes. In 2012 this lease was extended for another 30 years.

Natural Features:

The park is located on the Puntledge River and includes a waterfall known locally as ‘Nymph Falls’. Trails within the park connect with a larger system up and down the river. The forest is a regenerating second growth forest that varies with the age of the vegetation and the availability of water.

"The Puntledge River cascades off a series of exposed bedrock ledges before plunging into a deep pool. In the 1950's, BC Hydro, along with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, blasted a series of water ladders through these falls to make it easier for returning salmon to swim upstream.

Hit this spot in October and November and expect to see the salmon doing just that. Benches on an exposed rock terrace at Nymph Falls make it a great location for watching the fish fight their way upstream. Other good salmon watching spots can be found downstream. At the end of the Nymph Park Long Loop trail, close to the water, a mountain biking trail continues downstream." Ryan Stuart, courtesy InFocus Magazine.
