HUMAN RESOURCES

CVRD manages 172 employees under corporate services through our human resources department. Human resources administers the following for all its employees:

• recruitment
• training and development
• compensation and benefits administration
• occupational health and safety
• employee relations and labour management

The unionized employees of the Comox Valley Regional District are represented by either one of the following:

• Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE Local 556): CVRD main offices, victims services, waste management centre, compost facility, and treatment plant.
• United Steelworkers (USW – local 1-1937): Comox Valley Sports Centre and Comox Valley Aquatic Centre, both within the Comox Valley.
