iMap is an easy-to-use map viewer for the regional district’s Geographical Information System (GIS).

The Comox Valley Regional District began developing and using Geographical Information Systems (computer based mapping) in 1999 and iMap was the next logical step to give the public access to the maps and information.

The public can now access:

  • property information, including house numbering
  • building permits
  • property descriptions as well as air photos, zoning & available services
  • the Sensitive Habitat Atlas

In addition, locations in the regional district such as schools, libraries, government buildings, parks, etc. can be found through the "find a place" or "find an address" tool. Through iMap, the Regional District Cadastral Atlas and House Numbering Atlas are also available. Maps on the iMap site can be saved, printed and e-mailed.

When you launch iMap you will be required to read the disclaimer and then select OK. Selecting Cancel will return you to the CVRD Home Page. For help using iMap please select the help link once iMap has loaded. The help pages explain the use of all the tools available to you. iMap is subject to many data updating processes and may be unavailable for short periods of time throughout the month.

iMap requires a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, Internet Explorer 5.5 or Netscape 6.0 or greater. For Mac users iMap is completely supported using Netscape 7.1.
