Wildfire Prevention Plan for Nymph Falls Park
The Comox Valley Regional District is implementing a wildfire prevention plan at Nymph Falls park, with work projected to start at the end of May.

- GOOSE SPIT PARK
Dogs must be leashed at Goose Spit Park now until May 21. Brant geese use the park beach as a resting and feeding stop before continuing on non-stop to Alaska to nest. Please give the geese plenty of space.

- HEADQUARTERS TOWNSITE PARK
Trails are very wet with several large puddles. Work is being done to improve drainage and fill low spots. Expect crew and equipment on the trails this month.

Grey squirrels are an introduced species that may pose a threat to native squirrels and birds.
We are asking park visitors to report sightings to allow us to:

Map the current distribution

Determine the animal's movements and dynamics

Assess the Eastern Grey Squirrel's impacts on native species

Determine if action is required to protect native species.

- LITTLE RIVER AREA
- Beach access signage has been installed from Kilmorley Road, north to King Coho Greenway to assist pedestrians in locating public access over opened and unopened public roads. Look for the blue “Shore Access” signs
