Public Hearing Notice - Bylaw No. 120
“Comox Valley Regional District Regional Growth Strategy Bylaw No. 120, 2010”

This bylaw if adopted would establish a regional growth strategy for the Comox Valley Regional District excluding lands on Denman and Hornby Islands as shown on the map below. The regional growth strategy bylaw will provide a framework for future decision-making and land use with the aim of preserving the region’s high quality of life. The bylaw includes a vision statement for the future of the region over a 20 year time frame, population and employment projections for the region, and policies related to housing, ecosystems, natural areas and parks, local economic development, transportation, infrastructure, food systems, public health and safety and climate change.
A copy of the proposed bylaw and related information may be viewed at the regional district office, 600 Comox Road, Courtenay, BC between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays from Wednesday, July 28, 2010 until Tuesday, August 10, 2010 or here.
Anyone who believes the proposed bylaw will affect their interests will be given an opportunity to speak at the public hearing. Legally, the CVRD cannot consider any representations made after the close of the public hearing. If you cannot attend the public hearing, all written submissions, mailed or electronic, must be received by this office no later than 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 10, 2010.
