Kensington Update
Kensington Development Project Status
The CVRD has received a major development application that is situated in and around the Union Bay area. The application is commonly referred to as Kensington Island Properties and has been considered in various forms for a number of years.
On April 27, 2010 the board approved the amendment of the official community plan and the zoning bylaw to accommodate the development. Below are links to a variety of documents and other web pages that provide history and context to this development proposal.

May 4, 2012 CVRD and UBID sign agreement for transfer of water supply assets, and approve UBID/KIP water infrastructure agreement.

April 27, 2010 the board approved the master development agreement and gave final reading to bylaws 56 and 57

January 29, 2010 the Ministry of Community and Rural Development gave statutory approval - bylaw 57

December 15, 2009 the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure gave stautory approval - bylaw 56

December 10, 2009 board gave 3rd reading to bylaws 56 and 57

The public information meeting was held December 3, 2009 and the public hearing was held December 7, 2009. Both meetings were held at the Union Bay Community Hall.
