New fire chief Bruce Green has provided 25 years of service to the department and has been deputy chief for the same amount of time as Holbek has been chief.

“On behalf of the CVRD, I extend congratulations to Niels on his retirement and am pleased to welcome the new chief, Bruce Green, to his new post,” said CVRD Director Edwin Grieve, Puntledge-Black Creek, (Electoral Area 'C'). “The community has been well-served and will continue to be.”
