The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) will be hosting a free green building education session on Thursday July 26, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the CVRD boardroom at 550B Comox Road in Courtenay.
Scott Fleenor of Terratek Energy Solutions will give an overview of solar power opportunities for home installation, Mike Young of City Green Solutions will present on the ENERGY STAR® for new homes initiative and other energy efficiency opportunities, and attendees will also hear about the CVRD's home energy incentive program.
“This education session will give our residents knowledge, inspiration and money-saving ways to help them plan for their green renovation and construction,” said Michael Zbarsky, CVRD's manager of transit and sustainability.
Electoral area residents attending the session will be able to enter a draw to win prizes, including free home energy assessments. The CVRD's planning and building services cover only the electoral areas, but interested residents from Comox Valley municipalities are welcome to attend.
Although the workshop is free, space is limited, so please call 250-334-6000 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to register, or for more information.
The Comox Valley Regional District is a federation of three electoral areas and three municipalities providing sustainable services for residents and visitors to the area. The members of the regional district work collaboratively on services for the benefit of the diverse urban and rural areas of the Comox Valley.
