Park Etiquette

The Bench Traill follows the edge a cliff with a steep, high drop off. Please exercise extreme caution and stay well back from the edge.

Natural Features

This is park is comprised of an escarpment face above the Denman Island ferry landing, a bench and a second escarpment face to the top of Mt. Geoffrey. Amazing views of Shingle Spit as well as Denman and Vancouver Islands can be enjoyed from the park. The park has a trail that provides access from Mount Road to the Bench Trail in Mount Geoffrey Escarpment Provincial Park.

History

This park was originally named Shingle Spit Park. It was renamed Mount Geoffrey Bench Park in 2007 at which time a bench commemorating early Hornby Island settlers was installed.

Mt. Geoffrey is named after Admiral Geoffrey Hornby of the Royal British Navy.
