Natural Features

This forested beach access features a gently sloping forest with a fairly open canopy. The forest includes western red cedar, red alder and Douglas-fir. The beach is rocky with lots of logs. The forest contains several patches of lamium, an aggressive invasive introduced to the park by dumping of garden waste. The parks committee is trying to control and eliminate the lamium by digging it up and by covering patches.

The regional district obtained a licence of occupation over this road allowance/beach access in August of 2009. Members of the parks committee from the Hornby Island Residents and Ratepayers Association maintain this beach access.
