Recycling

The City Campbell River, the City of Courtenay, the Town of Comox and the Village of Cumberland provide curbside  recycling  pickup for their residents. 

The Comox Strathcona waste management (CSWM) service maintains several recycling depots within the Comox Valley and Strathcona Regional Districts for residential use only.

MMBC APPROVED RECYCLING DEPOTS
Difficult to collect items such as glass containers, polyethylene film plastics (grocery/shopping bags),and plastic foam packaging (ie. Styrofoam packaging) will not be included in curbside collection but will be accepted at local recycling depots. MMBC has the responsibility to ensure these materials are collected and recycled.

These non-MMBC locations will NOT be accepting MMBC approved material such as glass and plastic foam packaging (i.e. Styrofoam, etc).

As the new product stewardship plan rolls out, the CSWM service will monitor these depot locations to determine impact and operational requirements.

The location of the multi-bin recycling depot at Willow Point Park has changed as of April 17. The multi-bins are currently located in the upper parking lot at Willow Point Park near the splash park, and will be relocated to the lower parking lot by the Sportsplex, next to the ball hockey court.
