Comox Valley Growers and Seed Savers annual Seedy Saturday event held in early March is a terrific way to find out what grows best in your area (and what's going on).   Seedy Saturday is the main fund-raiser for the CVGSS, and funds raised from Seedy Saturday help the Society do its education work & activities during the following year. 

Northwest Coalition for Alternatives to Pesticides

Society for Organic Urban Land Care (SOUL) - this society was formed in response to the growing need for ecologically responsible land care practices. Their mission is to promote and support organic practices in the community through education, certification, and standardization."

Certified Organic Associations of British Columbia - has an excellent list of approved products and manufacturers.

BC Seeds - a project of Farm Folk/City Folk to encourage seed saving, support BC based Seed companies and provide a space for knowledge and seed exchange.

Great Plant Picks - the Great Plant Picks (GPP) educational program promotes plants well-suited to Pacific Northwest gardens west of the Cascade Mountains. Each year, noteworthy plants are added to the GPP list, selected by professional horticulturists from Washington, Oregon and British Columbia. GPP is funded by the Pendleton and Elisabeth Miller Charitable Foundation and administered by the staff of the Elisabeth Carey Miller Botanical Garden.

Pesticide Free Committee (Denman Island) - shall seek information, explore options and develop a plan of action for encouraging Denman Island to be pesticide free, and promote toxic free living to the greatest extent possible. The committee shall develop a plan to provide information about pesticides and alternatives to pesticide use in the community. Chair: Peter Thomsen
